Technical Sales and Business Development Representative

Maxam North America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Sales and Business Development Representative to cover the Western United States market. Specific responsibilities include:

• Identifying new business opportunities and generating sales volume for plant and equipment in the West
• New client acquisition through industry contacts and cold calls
• Performing full sales function (including pre-sales activities, preparing quotations, responding to tenders, presentations, as well as handling post sales requirements)
• Technical support to customers
• Communicating new product developments to prospective clients
• Helping to administer accounts and writing reports
• Gathering market intelligence
• Working closely with operations and delivery teams to develop solutions based on client requirements
• Organizing and arranging tests at prospective customer accounts
• Achieving revenue and customer satisfaction targets

Job requirements include:

• Minimum of three to four years in the explosives or related industry with direct selling experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Self motivated and capable of performing in a high paced and highly regulated environment
• Technically adept
• Good communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence in presenting to large groups of people
• Good understanding of the market and competitors' products
• Trustworthy and discrete when handling confidential information
• Available to travel 30% to 50% of the time
• University graduate or commensurate experience a plus
